Yes. GAIABITE Fish Oil for Pets is formulated for cats and dogs, and the serving directions on the bottle are by body weight. If your pet has a health condition, takes medication, or is pregnant or nursing, check with your veterinarian first.

Two marine oils — imported salmon oil (90% of the formula) and Antarctic krill oil — plus walnut, evening primrose, flaxseed and borage seed oils and a small amount of chicken fat, with natural vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin D3, beta-carotene and rosemary extract. Salmon oil makes up 90% of the formula and provides the omega-3 fatty acids most pet owners are looking for. Antarctic krill oil is added as a second marine source of omega-3s. The plant oils round out the fatty-acid profile, and natural vitamin E and rosemary extract help protect the oil.

Oils don't like light or air. The opaque aluminum bottle keeps light out, and the pump lets you serve without unscrewing a cap at every meal — one pump is about 1 ml. Keep the bottle closed between uses.

Ask your veterinarian before giving any supplement to a kitten or puppy, to a pet that is pregnant or nursing, or alongside medication or an existing health condition.

Pump it straight over wet or dry food and mix it in, once a day with a meal. If your pet is new to fish oil, start with half the serving for the first few days and work up to the full amount.

Each 223 ml bottle holds about 223 pumps. At 2 pumps a day that's roughly 3½ months for one cat, or about 2 months for two cats. A large dog at 4 pumps a day goes through a bottle in about 2 months. That's why our subscription runs every 2 months (1 bottle) or every 4 months (2 bottles).
